On an annual basis, we help companies report to the National Pollutant Inventory (NPI). Typical tasks involve the following:
-
Collect data from all sites operated by the company that require reporting
-
Synthesise data into the required format for input into the NPI database
-
Enter data into the NPI database
-
Modify emission estimates to account for changes in the NPI NEPM and changes to NPI manuals that affect emission estimates using the NPI database (and explain changes in our report)
-
Validate NPI returns (perform a historical analysis of estimated emissions)
-
Prepare the online reporting tool ready for submission to the DEWHA.
We have carried out NPI reporting for a host of companies in many different industry sectors including mining, power generation, aluminium and cement manufacturing. We can perform NPI reporting projects manually on a case by case basis or by installing our proprietary data management system emissionsXpert which is designed to automate onsite data collection and reporting.
We also help the NPI on an ongoing basis by reviewing and updating guidance material including industry-based Emission Estimation Technique (EET) manuals.
