The Clean Air Society of Australia & New Zealand has just approved the formation of a new Special Interest Group (SIG) for Transport Emissions. The Transport SIG will complement existing SIGs for Modelling, Odour, Indoor Air, Greenhouse, Risk Assessment and a recently formed Measurement group.  The SIGs provide a forum for practitioners on technical and policy-related aspects of those topics, and usually hold workshops in conjunction with CASANZ conferences.

The formation of the group is  an initiative of Dr Robin Smit, a PAEHolmes transport emissions specialist based in our Brisbane office. Robin gained his PhD on the improved modelling of vehicle emissions for use in emissions inventories and air quality assessment. He has academic and work experience in both Australia and The Netherlands, and is one of a number of senior ‘returnees’ to PAEHolmes bringing with them international experience and contacts. Some of Robin’s published papers on transport emissions are available on our website here.

Primarily under the long-term direction of Kerry Holmes in our Sydney office, PAEHolmes has developed a strong reputation in road and tunnel air quality assessments.
