Inventory Development Projects

Preparation of the Air Emissions Inventory for the Greater Metropolitan Region (NSW) - NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change

  • Completed the emission inventory of over 500 pollutants for over 7,000 industrial and commercial facilities with the Greater Sydney region
  • Processed over 4,000 questionnaires sent to industry designed to provide emission estimates for the regional inventory
  • Designed and implemented a database for the management of the emissions from the mobile, biogenic, stationary, commercial and domestic components of the inventory

Preparation of the South East Queensland Emissions Inventory for Commercial, Industrial and Area-based Sources - Queensland Environmental Protection Agency and Brisbane City Council

  • Designed and compiled gridded emissions inventory, achieved through consultation with industrial and commercial emitters in South East Queensland, and through information collected as a result of mail outs and telephone surveys
  • Developed an Access database designed to interrogate the inventory for the generation of geographic, source or time specific gridded inventory results
  • Designed specification for project tender brief for the biogenic component of the inventory
  • Reviewed and vetted the emission estimates
  • Provided comprehensive profiling of all criteria pollutants associated with mobile sources in SEQ. The analysis included emission profiling for all drive conditions, vehicle types, ADR and control technologies for petrol-based vehicles.

National Inventory Development - Department of the Environment and Heritage (DEH) formerly Environment Australia)

  • Developed an Australia-wide dioxin emissions inventory for industrial and mobile sources to underpin Australia's responsibilities under the Stockholm Convention. This international convention is a program designed to identify and reduce the presence of dioxins on a global-wide basis. PAE compiled the initial inventory in 1998 and completed an update based on available data for 2002. The project required consultation with industry throughout Australia.
  • Developed an Australia-wide mobile source emissions inventory of dioxins emissions, which provided emission profiles for all vehicles in the Australian fleet on a country-wide basis. This project required intimate knowledge of ADRs and the characteristics of the Australian vehicle fleet as well as an understanding of how to adapt the emission profiles generated in other countries to the Australian situation.
  • Developed an air toxics inventory of the greater Sydney region.
