Greenhouse Gas Assessment Projects

We have successfully completed many impact assessments on greenhouse gas emissions in individual projects relating to the construction of terminals, rail links, and power stations. The following are recent key projects:

Greenhouse Gas Assessment of Proposed Pulp Mill, Bell Bay, Tasmania

This project formed the basis of an expert witness statement prepared for Gunns Limited in the matter of the Bell Bay Pulp Mill Project: A project of State Significance Resource Planning and Development Commission inquiry. In this project we

  • Identified greenhouse gas emission sources over paper industry lifecycle (Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 category of emissions) for the proposed pulp mill operation and compared with existing wood-chip export operation
  • Estimated greenhouse gas emissions in line with protocols outlined in The World Resources Institute/World Business Council for Sustainable Development Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the Australian Greenhouse Office Factors and Methods Workbook and the International Council of Forest and Paper Associations Calculation Tools for Estimating Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Pulp and Paper Mills

Technical Review of Greenhouse Gas Assessment Submitted for Proposed Anvil Hill Coal Mine, NSW

This project assisted the NSW Department of Planning in the inquiry over the Anvil Hill coal mine held in the NSW Land and Environment court. For this project, we provided a technical review of greenhouse gas emission source identification and emissions estimation for the NSW Department of Planning.
