EcoVision Pty Ltd creates innovative systems that help protect our environment by raising consumer awareness of resource consumption and empowering people to reduce their environmental footprint.
Based in Queensland, EcoVision has provided leadership in its field by developing a resource monitoring system that enables users to obtain real time feedback on their energy usage. Users can then compare their individual performance with community benchmarks.
The EcoVision Resource Monitoring System features a wall mounted in-home touch-screen which provides instant reporting on electricity, potable water, recycled water and gas consumption. A smart controller sits behind the screen gathering data from various meters installed around the home and can also send the data to a central community server where it can be used to analyse community performance and set consumption targets as well as being relayed on to utilities for further action.
Electricity used for lighting, general power, and water pumping can be separately tracked in graphic form, as well as energy produced by rooftop photovoltaic arrays. The controller’s algorithms calculate the net overall electricity consumption or production and convert it into a real time greenhouse footprint.
EcoVision estimates that savings of between 10% and 20% of average consumption can easily be achieved simply by raising end user awareness.
The company’s innovative systems are currently being installed in all 144 homes at the multi-award winning Ecovillage at Currumbin.
